Community Supported Agriculture+ RAD 19

While our friends were out of town we were fortunate enough pick up their CSA box.  If you are unfamiliar with Community Supported Agriculture, I highly recommend you check it out!  You just give them money up front and they supply you a big box of 26 weeks of their best produce!  From just that one box, we were so overwhelmed with fresh yumminess that we joined up ourselves with Groundworks.  If you are in Portland, Bend, or Eugene, Oregon they can supply you, too! This farm is great!  We always bought from them at market anyway:)

The Ring A Day Challenge

Etsy metal declared a challenge on the first of January to create a ring a day.  Seeing as I hadn’t manged to keep up with a Thing-a-day, I thought I’d better not even pretend I could take on this challenge.  My boss/friend Renee took the challenge head on and now her enthusiasm has become infectious.  I’m not certain I’ll be able to catch up, but I intend to try!  I will occasionally be taking a very loose interpretation of the ring concept as a way to keep options open as I will have constraints with which to deal.  Those of you who know me know I have very mixed feelings about practical (and wearable) jewelry art vs. conceptual jewelry art.  I find that they are like comparing apples and 8-tracks.  And yet, you will see them both as answers to my daily challenge.  I will make every effort to avoid developing the elitism or snobbery towards either side of art and have a little fun with it.  If you follow my efforts, I hope you enjoy!

Photos to follow! And check the etsy metal link for other artists’ rings!

Cheers,

~margarita
